TechMachaw publishes guides, explainers and free tools for media planners, performance marketers, creators and ecommerce sellers. This page sets out how that content is produced, checked, funded and corrected, so you know what you are reading and why you can act on it.
Who produces the content
TechMachaw is run by a single working digital media strategist with more than eight years inside advertising agencies, planning and running performance campaigns for automotive and consumer brands. There is no editorial team and no contributor network. Every piece on the site is commissioned, written, reviewed and published by the same person, which means one standard applies throughout and one person is accountable for it.
How articles are researched
Guides start from working practice: the calculations, benchmarks and processes used in real campaign planning. Anything that comes from outside that is checked against a primary source, meaning the platform’s own documentation, a company filing, a regulator or the original announcement, not another blog’s summary of it.
Specific rules we hold to:
- Fee tables, pricing and platform limits are dated in the text, because they change. A figure without a date is a figure you cannot trust.
- Comparison tables list what each tool’s free and paid plans actually include, verified on the vendor’s own pricing page at the date shown.
- Where a number is contested or an estimate, it is described as one rather than presented as fact.
- Outbound links to sources are provided so you can check the original rather than take our word for it.
Use of AI
AI tools are used at TechMachaw in the same way a spreadsheet or a spell checker is: for drafting, structuring, research assistance and editing. They are not used to publish unreviewed text. Every article is directed, fact-checked and edited by a human before it goes live, and the strategic judgement in a piece, meaning what matters, what to ignore and what it means for your budget, is human.
Earlier in the site’s history, a short-lived experiment published automatically generated news summaries. That experiment did not meet this standard and those posts have been removed rather than left up. We mention it because a policy page that only describes best intentions is not worth much.
The free tools
The calculators and utilities on this site run entirely in your browser. No data you type into them is transmitted to TechMachaw or to anyone else, nothing is stored on a server, and none of them require a sign-up. The fee tables and platform limits inside them are maintained against the official sources and dated on the page. If a tool returns a number you believe is wrong, tell us and it will be checked.
How TechMachaw makes money
Two ways: affiliate commissions and display advertising.
Affiliate links. Some links to software and services are affiliate links. If you sign up through one, TechMachaw may earn a commission at no extra cost to you, and in some cases you get a discount you would not otherwise have. Any page carrying affiliate links says so at the top of the page, and every affiliate link is marked with a sponsored attribute in the code.
What commission does not buy. It does not buy a recommendation, a ranking position or a softened description. Tools are compared on what their plans actually include, competitors without an affiliate programme are included in comparisons on the same terms, and limitations of a paid tool are stated even when we earn from it. Where a free option is genuinely better for a reader’s situation, that is what the article says.
Advertising. Display advertising on the site is served by third party ad networks. Advertisers have no input into editorial content and no advance sight of it.
Corrections
If something on this site is wrong, we want to know. Report it through the contact page with the page and what should change. Factual errors are corrected as soon as they are confirmed, and a substantive correction is noted on the page rather than silently edited. Guides covering fees, limits and pricing are revisited when the underlying platform changes.
What we do not do
- Publish paid posts or link insertions dressed up as editorial.
- Republish press releases as articles.
- Invent reviews, testimonials or case studies.
- Give personalised financial, legal or investment advice. Guides here are general information, and a number that works for one business may not work for yours.
Privacy
What data the site collects, how it is used and how to request its deletion is set out in the privacy policy and the cookie policy.
